A new funding award for Twechar Youth Group is set to provide a major boost for young people in the village.
The Group has been awarded £28,500 by YouthLink Scotland which will be used to purchase a new 15-seater Peugeot Monarch minibus.
The new vehicle will be used to provide young people in Twechar with access to a wide range of activities outwith the village.
Sandra Sutton, Twechar Community Action, said “This award is excellent news for Twechar. The Group does a great deal of excellent work for young people in the area and the purchase of the new bus will really make a difference by making it easier to provide travel to a wide range of activities.”
The Youth Group provides fundraising support for a variety of sporting and other activities in Twechar including mountain biking, swimming and fishing trips.
As the National Youth Work Agency in Scotland, Youthlink Scotland aims to promote a positive image of young people and youth work and offers extensive support and funding for projects across the country.
